General

1) How do I get a mobile professiona centre username and password?

Visit www.mobilepro.net and register to create a username and password.

2) Do I need different account for each mobile pro application?

No. One account allows you to use all the mobile pro applications.

Cell Phones

1) I'm an AT&T customer, why does mMode work but my syncing does not?

Some AT&T phones are shipped with general internet access disabled by default. To fix this:

  1. On your phone go to Services-->Settings-->Connection Settings-->Active Service Setting Select one of the blank settings such as "Set 3"
  2. From the Connection Setting menu select Edit Active Service Setting. Scroll down to Bearer Settings. Select it.
  3. Under GPRS Access Point enter proxy.
  4. Under IP Address enter 10.250.250.250.
  5. Go back to the main menu.

Syncing should now work in the application. If you need to use mMode again you will have to change your Active Service Setting back to mMode.

2) I can't get my application to sync on my Nokia device. What should I do?

With the Nokia series 60 devices such as 3620, 3650, 3660, 6600, 6620, 7650, and N-Gage, you may need to use an Internet access point rather than a WAP access point, and with an Internet access point you must use 0.0.0.0 as your gateway IP address. In Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access points, create or edit an access point so that the "Access point name" refers to an Internet access point rather than a WAP access point, and set the "Gateway IP address" to 0.0.0.0. To determine the access point for your carrier, please contact your carrier for tech support.

If you have a Nokia Series 40 phone your carrier's gateway may be the problem. Under Services --> Settings --> Edit Active Service Settings record the current entry for IP Address. Now change the IP Address to 67.65.95.194. If syncing now works this means your carrier's gateway is faulty and you should contact them.

If you have a different phone model or the above did not work please contact us with your product name, phone model, carrier and the error message you recieve when attempting to sync.

Blackberries

1) Do I use the Enterprise or Individual version of the application?

Enterprise – you should probably be using the enterprise version if you received your Blackberry from your company or employer.

Individual – you should probably be using the individual version if you purchased your Blackberry yourself from a reseller or wireless carrier.

If you are unsure of which version of you need for your device, please contact your Company's I/T Administrator or your wireless service provider.

2) The key mappings on my RIM Blackberry using ExpenseLog Pro appear to be wrong!

In your MobilePro application go to Preferences --> BlackBerry Device Setting and choose your device from the list.

3) Can I sync data from my Blackberry to my desktop?

No. However, you can sync your data to the Mobile Professional web site at www.MobilePro.net . From the web site, you can export it to .csv format and then open this file in a speadsheet for further organizing, printing or saving on your computer.

4) Will my blackberry be able to sync?

Blackberries access the internet differently and require special settings. We only support syncing with RIM's blackberries on the following networks:

Individual Enterprise Not Supported

AT&T (US), Cingular (US), Nextel (US- MDS ), Telus-7510 (CA- MDS ), T-Mobile (US), T-Mobile (DE), T-Mobile (NL), T-Mobile(UK), e-Plus (DE), Vodafone (DE), Vodafone (Austria), Vodafone (Spain), Vodafone (NL), Vodafone (UK), Telstra, Nextel, O2 (DE), O2 (NL), O2 (Ireland), O2 (UK), TIM (Italy),

Rogers (CA),

Or if you use your Blackberry with a Blackberry Enterprise Server – often used with governments, large and medium sized businesses.

Bell Mobility (CA), Verizon, Sprint, Telus (Blackberry 7750)

All Blackberry 6750, 7250, 7550, 7750 are not supported.

5) On my Blackberry when I sync I get the error message: "The application (Application name) has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy."

As a security feature, the RIM Operating System will not let you use a WAP connection and the BES connection (or a "split-pipe" connection) for the same application. This issue is covered in detail here

You will have to reinstall our application to regain network access:
1) Backup any important data.
2) Load the Desktop Manager. Uncheck the box for the MobilePro application you wish to uninstall.
3) Click next
4) Click "Advanced". Check "Delete Application Data"
5) Click finish to complete the uninstall.

If this does not work you will have to reload your RIM OS software as well. You can get the latest RIM OS software for your Blackberry at one of the below links.

6) On my Blackberry I get the error message: "No system software found" or "No additional applications for your handheld were found"

First make sure that you have unzipped all the files, including the .alx and .cod file, to the same directory before trying to install. If the problem persists there may be bug in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software that you are using.

This link explains the issue: Click here .

If your Blackberry is directly from RIM, this is a link to the download page for the service pack you require to install 3rd party software: Click here.

Additional links for carrier specific service packs are can be found below:

You may need to reboot your computer after installation. Once you have downloaded and installed the service pack you should be able to install our software.

7) When syncing I get the error "Could not find a service book entry for ipp"

When using a Blackberry Eenterprise Server (BES), Mobile Data Service (MDS) must be enabled for your account. Please talk to your BES server administrator (I/T Administrator). You need to make sure that you have the 'Desktop [IPPP] or BlackBerry [IPPP]' service book installed on your device. For more information on service books and how to update them click here.

If you are not on a BES, and have RIM OS 4.0 or higher, then try using our Individual Edition and under Preferences - Network Options select Custom from the list and enter:
;deviceside=true

8) When syncing I get asked permission for network access repeatedly, how do I turn this off?

When the access dialog comes up scroll down to the "Always allow this connection" option and press the space bar to select it.

9) When syncing I get "Error 400" or "Malformed".

There is a problem with either your carrier's WAP Gateway or their firewall such that network requests are being corrupted by the time they reach our server. If you hav RIM OS 4.0 or higher you should be able to use the TCP stack of your Blackberry rather than rely on your carrier's gateway.

1) First try the 'Enterprise' version of our software.

2) If that fails to work try the 'Individual' version. Under Preferences --> Network Options in our application enter

;deviceside=true

Remember to include the leading semi-colon (;)

10) I'm a T-Mobile user and my syncing has recently stopped working.

Before we begin you will need your T-Mobile account info. Please click on the following link: https://my.t-mobile.com/Login/

Please type your Blackberry phone number in the Phone Number field then hit Forgot Your Password, this will send an e-mail to your Blackberry with your password. Once you have received your T-Mobile account e-mail proceed to steps below.

On your Blackberry scroll to Options, (7100 users, you will need to scroll to Settings/Tools) in this menu open TCP, in the APN field type wap.voicestream.com, in the Username field type your BB phone#, in the Password type the password you received in your T-Mobile e-mail, click the toggle wheel and select Save.

Example after you have completed this screen:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
UserName: (please use your BB phone#)
Password: (please use your BB password)

Now try syncing again. If you still have problems please see the above FAQ #9.
