ExpenseLog Quick Tips

  1. After you have created a new user on this website and logged in using the same username and password on your mobile phone you are ready to begin recording your expenses.

  2. When you have expenses to enter, add them to your handheld device, edit the amount and optionally change the account and category they are in. For example if you are on a business trip to Geneva and just had lunch at a restaurant you would:
    a) Create a category called 'Geneva'
    b) Change the current category to 'Geneva' using the selector in the top right corner.
    c) Add a new expense and enter the correct amount
    d) Change the Account to 'Meals'
  3. Continue adding expenses in this manner for the duration of the trip. Any new expenses will automatically be in the category 'Geneva' until you change the current category again.

  4. When you get back from the trip, select the 'Sync Now' menu item and sync your handheld expenses with your web-based ExpenseLog.

  5. From the website you can now further organize your expenses by keeping track of which ones have already been paid or reimbursed. You can also export them to a spreadsheet from the website.
